Learn About Rugs is an educational section about handmade rugs of the world.
We have uniquely divided this section into six subsections of Attributes,
History, Geography & People,
Tools, Glossary,
and Rug Resources. We have also developed a Pricing Guide which helps in understanding how handmade rugs are priced. Learn About Rugs has been designed for:
- Learning all about handmade rugs for educational purposes.
- Obtaining sufficient information about rugs in order to make well-informed purchasing decisions.
- Finding specific information in order to better understand the description of the rugs in different areas of our site.

In the Attributes section, we have been able to create a very unique and simple way of learning about rugs and distinguishing one from another. We have created 13 attributes by which we can classify all the rugs in the world. These attributes include size, color, layout,
pattern, style, make, pile,
weave, foundation, knot, category,
age, and condition.
By creating this unique method of classification, we are able to communicate with our visitors by increasing their knowledge of handmade rugs in an easy and fun way.
As a result, we can help them make well-informed choices.

Events, people, places, and rugs that have had a significant influence on the art of rug weaving and our understanding of this art are discussed in the History section.

Geography & People describes the lifestyle of rug weavers whose way of life has a direct influence on their weaving.

Different Tools are needed in construction of a
handmade rug. Some common tools used in rug weaving are vertical looms, horizontal looms, design plate, knife, scissors, spindle, hook and comb.

Glossary section is a comprehensive list of handmade rug terminology and related words used in Learn About Rugs.

Rug Resources section consists of a list of books, museums, magazines, trade shows, interior designers, importers, retailers and associations.
